I'm working with @dopatwo on a 10th anniversary Mastodon merch design and the sketch he sent me is so good. I usually don't even talk about these things until they're done but it's so exciting I just have to vent it.
@Lautschrift @EUCommission You could regulate against addictive dark patterns in web applications without introducing surveillance for all adults. I also grew up without any parental controls and I'm still alive.
@EUCommission If it is for parents to raise their children, then why is age verification needed at all? Parents have all the tools they need already - most devices come with parental controls, and of course they can decide when to give devices at all.
@aglimme @codemonkeymike @Epic_Null It's a machine. It should turn on when you press power. Apple's involvement should end when you exchange money for the device.
